(5-22-18) Scott arranged a machine room visit to this salt mine hoist in Hutchinson. We first take a ride on this interesting double decker hoist. Notice how there is no controls inside the elevator. It also does not have a standard elevator call system. It has to be sent from the other level. After, we check out the machine that runs this hoist. Edited by stl elevators aka Jason CONNECT WITH ME! Stretching 40 miles through the heart of northern Idaho, Silver Valley is a time capsule of the West. Deep within its valley walls, empires rose...and sometimes fell. Beyond the ribald tales, you will discover how the region's past has shaped what the Silver Valley is today...and why it still resonates with the spirit of those who sought its Silver Linings.

Here goes the full length version of our trip to Gizzy. Lots of time in and around water. Gisborne is a small seaside city with a relaxed way of life, with cool people who love and are very talented at their water sports. Because the main State Highway bypasses this location it is often missed by our foreign visitors, which is a shame because there is so much more to see and do here and all the way up the East Coast of the North Island of NZ. I was only in town for two days to compile this video, however there are still good wine tours, a cool little museum if you're into that type of stuff. But most importantly this location (including the entire East Coast) has a rich heritage of Maori culture that can be sought out if you look hard enough. Check out the friendliest sea creatures around the world! From incredible animals that saved peoples lives to the strangest ocean wildlife, this top 10 list of friendly creatures swimming around in the vast ocean is amazing! Sea Lions Sea Lions have long been associated with friendly interactions with humans, so much so that they form a large part of Peruvian culture- having been worshipped by the people there and depicted in numerous artworks. They are highly intelligent animals, which means they can learn tricks to entertain crowds, and are quite curious so they will often swim up alongside humans and play with them in the water. They are also used by the US military to assist SCUBA diving teams look for underwater mines and, in some instances, detain divers who have accessed restricted areas until authorities can arrive. Sea lions and dolphins are used as combat marine units and sea lions especially, have excellent eyesight. Sea lions are hardy, smart, and trainable and they have the added advantage that they are amphibious and can easily hand things to their handlers. This all makes Sea Lions sound like gentle creatures, but it’s important to know that sea lions have another side to them. If they aren’t treated well or respectfully, they can become quite aggressive. This can also happen with male Sea Lions because they are very territorial during mating season. If it looks like you’re bothering one then stay away but, if not, they are one of the friendliest sea creatures you’ll ever meet. 9. Beluga Whale Beluga Whales are native to the Arctic and sub-arctic, and are uniquely adapted to the cold waters. They are white in color, don’t have a dorsal fin, and have an enlarged head, which contains an organ called a melon that is used for echolocation. Beluga’s were actually the first type of whale to be kept in captivity, with the first being shown at Barnum’s museum in New York in 1861. To this day they are still the most commonly seen animal in marine parks across North America, Europe and Asia- mainly because they are much smaller than other species of whale and easier to contain. They are also a hit with visitors because of their unusual colour and wide range of facial expressions. They are really curious about the people who visit them, and often perform in shows with trainers who they develop deep bonds with. Since 1992 it has been forbidden to capture Belugas in Canada because of concerns for the population numbers in the wild, so now most of them come from Russia. They are so popular that each one can cost as much as 100,000 dollars. Whale watching tours are a great way to see them in their natural habitat, but it’s important for the boat not to get too close to them because of the way it can interrupt their daily activities. Quite often they enjoy interacting with the boats so much that they get distracted from things like feeding, social interaction with their own species, and breeding. They get so caught up in the moment, they forget what they’re supposed to be doing!! 8. Whale Shark You might not think a shark with a five-foot-wide mouth and more than 3,000 teeth would be the friendliest of creatures, but whale sharks are the most gentle of all shark species. They pose no threat to humans at all, and are usually pretty welcoming to those who want to swim alongside them. Despite their huge mouth, their throats are only the width of a US quarter, and they only eat tiny micro-organisms. Their average speed through the water is about 3 miles per hour, so they are easy to keep up with, and in a lot of tourist areas they are used to the presence of humans in the water, and don’t really seem to be bothered. Cancun is one of the best places to swim with these giants of the ocean, where you’ll really feel small next to a 65-foot-long and 12 ton fish. There really is nothing quite like being surrounded by a few of them, and the experience draws tourists from all over the world. If you visit “Las Afueras” you’ll even have a chance to be amongst a feeding frenzy of hundreds of them, which is a spectacular feat of nature. 7. Manatees Manatees, or sea cows, are also known as gentle giants, and it’s clear to see why. They are fully aquatic and feed mainly on plant life that they sift from the water. They can grow to up to 13-feet-long, weigh about 1,300 pounds, and push their way through the water with their paddle like limbs. I’m a Bedouin and I was born in one of the caves in the nature reserve of Petra. The Wadi Araba Desert is very important and it’s been here for thousands of years, even before Christ. People used to travel in caravans though the streets of the canyon to bring bronze from the mines to Petra. Only people who know the desert very well can live in it. Bedouins know its secrets and are able to move without the need of a map. They know the desert is not just moving sand with no life and no water. The desert has water, green and trees, and lots of animals like snakes, scorpions, ants, hyenas, and wolfs. Bedouins always live close to water sources to feed their animals and to grow vegetables like tomatoes, melons, and potatoes. Nowadays most Bedouin families own a car so they can drive to the big city to buy food, water, and other supplies. The territory around my cave has lots of green areas. There are lots of juniper trees, oaks, and wild pistachios. Back in the day, the Bedouins used the fruits of the juniper trees to make tea or as spices. They liked to use many herbs, for everyday use and for medicinal purposes. Bedouins always cook on fire made with dry wood, especially juniper wood which gives the food a very special aroma. A very typical Bedouin drink is black tea, which must boil until it has a very dark color. When the tea is ready, they add lots of sugar and aromatic herbs. The Mansaf is a very important Bedouin dish which used to be prepared with goat meat cooked in goat milk or cheese. Today we normally cook chicken with spices and herbs, goat cheese or yogurt. We place flat bread on a dish, spread boiled white rice on top and place the cooked meat in the middle”. My cave is located 8km from Petra in a nature reserve. There are many herbs and trees that grow in the area, for example aloe vera which is used to cure burns, sage and mint which are commonly used for tea, and oregano is especially common in breakfast dishes. The cave is more than two thousand years old, carved by hand. My grandfather grew up here just like me. The ceiling of the cave is black because back in the day people used lots of fire to cook and stay warm. I painted the walls a lighter color so that the room gets more light during the day. The floor is covered with carpets and cushions, and camel saddles are used as armrest for two people who are sitting next to each other. Bedouins used oil lamps to illuminate the cave at night. In the morning I go to the village to work but I always come back to the cave, usually before sunset to enjoy the beautiful view. I have a small cooking area and a place for my books and other possessions. The stairs that are carved on the side of the cave lead up to the terrace, which was used to control the area and protect it from possible enemies. In ancient times these mountains were used by the Romans, the Byzantine, and the Nabataeans to make wine and other alcoholic beverages, especially using wild fig trees. The terrace is the perfect place to relax in the afternoon or stargaze at night. The building outside the cave was made about 80 years ago with juniper tree for the main structure and stones kept together with straw and sand. People were very careful not to have holes in the walls because they didn’t want scorpions, snakes, or any other poisonous animal to get inside. The roof was made of timber and covered with palm leaves or bamboo. What would Paris be without its symbolic Eiffel Tower? Built by Gustave Eiffel to commemorate the centenary of the French Revolution, it is presented at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1889. 324 meters high, it is one of the most visited monuments in the world with nearly 7 million visitors a year. We can say that Tour Eiffel is no1 in our Top 10 Paris toursists attractions. The first floor houses the Eiffel Tower 58 which extends over two levels, 58 meters above the ground as its name suggests. On the second floor, the view is the best at 115 meters because you have a diving view on the ground below. Finally on the 3rd floor at 275 meters, you can see what the office of Gustave Eiffel was. For the more adventurous one, it is possible to use the stairs and climb the steps (1,665 to the summit). The ascent of the Eiffel Tower is a must to enjoy the magnificent view of Paris. 2 Notre Dame Cathedral - -------- 3 Louvre Museum The Louvre is the most visited art museum in the world. Located in the heart of Paris, this historic building is a former royal palace, with an area of 210,000 square meters including 60,600 for the exhibitions. The remains of the fortress are visible in the basement of the museum. 4Champs Elysées / Arc of Triumph Under the spell of ancient Roman architecture, Napoleon commissioned Jean Chalgrin the design of a triumphal arch dedicated to the glory of imperial armies. Built in the 19th century, it is the largest monument of its kind in the world. Impressive sculptures adorn its pillars. In addition, the names of 558 generals and the great victories are engraved on the top of the arc. Under the Arc de Triomphe is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier of France. The panoramic terrace above the door offers a beautiful view of Paris. 50 meters high, 45 meters wide and 22 meters deep, the Arc de Triomphe is located on the Place de l'Etoile which leads to the Champs Elysees which is nicknamed "the most beautiful avenue in the world." It stands on 1.9 km between Place de la Concorde and the Arc de Triomphe. There are many luxury boutiques (Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Guerlain, Montblanc …), places of ehntertainment (Lido, cinemas), famous cafes and restaurants (Fouquet's). 5 Cruise on the Seine Find the best way to visit the "City of Light" enjoying a cruise on the Seine, especially at night. For more information visit http://www.asiatravel.com Perth /pɜrθ/ is the capital and largest city of the Australian state of Western Australia. It is the fourth most populous city in Australia, with an estimated population of 1.9 million living in Greater Perth. Part of the South West Land Division of Western Australia, the majority of the metropolitan area of Perth is located on the Swan Coastal Plain, a narrow strip between the Indian Ocean and the Darling Scarp, a low coastal escarpment. The first areas settled were on the Swan River, with the city's central business district and port (Fremantle) both located on its shores. Perth's metropolitan area is formally divided into a number of local government areas, which themselves consist of a large number of suburbs, extending from Two Rocks in the north to Rockingham in the south, and east inland to The Lakes. Perth was originally founded by Captain James Stirling in 1829 as the administrative centre of the Swan River Colony, and gained city status in 1856 (currently vested in the smaller City of Perth). The city is named for Perth, Scotland, by influence of Sir George Murray, then British Secretary of State for War and the Colonies. The city's population increased substantially as a result of the Western Australian gold rushes in the late 19th century, largely as a result of emigration from the eastern colonies of Australia. During Australia's involvement in World War II, Fremantle served as a base for submarines operating in the Pacific Theatre. An influx of immigrants following the conclusion of the war was followed by a surge in economic activity as a result of several mining booms in the late 20th and early 21st centuries, with Perth becoming the regional headquarters for a number of mining operations located around the state. As part of Perth's role as the capital of Western Australia, the state's Parliament and Supreme Court are located within the city, as well as Government House, the residence of the Governor of Western Australia. Perth became known worldwide as the "City of Light" when city residents lit their house lights and streetlights as American astronaut John Glenn passed overhead while orbiting the earth on Friendship 7 in 1962. The city repeated the act as Glenn passed overhead on the Space Shuttle in 1998. Perth came 9th in the Economist Intelligence Unit's August 2012 list of the world's most liveable cities, and was classified by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network in 2010 as a world city. Perth Cultural Centre is both an area of central Perth and the collective name for the main buildings of the Art Gallery of Western Australia, Western Australian Museum, Alexander Library, State Records Office and Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA). In addition to the Perth Cultural Centre a number of other venues within the city exist including the State Theatre - home to the Black Swan State Theatre Company in Northbrige, His Majesty's Theatre, Perth in the City and the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on the foreshore. The Perth International Arts Festival is a cultural festival that has been held annually since 1953, and has since been expanded to include the Winter Arts festival. In recent years this has been developed further to include the Perth Fringe Festival, which runs throughout the city in the lead up to the Perth International Arts Festival. Kings Park, located in central Perth between the CBD and the University of Western Australia, is the largest inner-city park in the world, at 4.06 square kilometres. Perth Zoo, located in South Perth, houses a variety of Australian and exotic animals from around the globe. The zoo is home to highly successful breeding programs for orangutans and giraffes, and participates in captive breeding and reintroduction efforts for a number of Western Australian species, including the numbat, the dibbler, the chuditch, and the western swamp tortoise. Visit to Botallack Mine April 2014. The Botallack Mine is in west Cornwall, United Kingdom. The village is in a former tin mining area situated between the town of St Just in Penwith and the village of Pendeen. Crown Mines, former tin mines, are low down the cliffs north of Botallack. There are two engine houses here and the mine extends for about 400 metres out under the Atlantic ocean; the deepest shaft is 250 fathoms (about 500m) below sea level. The mine ruins in the area are protected by the National Trust. There are two arsenic works opposite the Botallack Mine count house. At the top of the cliffs there are also the remains of one of the mine's arsenic-refining works. The BBC television series Poldark was filmed partly in Botallack, using Manor Farm as Nampara. The mining developments around Botallack form part of the St Just mining district's successful inclusion in the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage site which was approved in July 2006. FRAMING TIME provides an evocative record of a three day art workshop held at Killhope, the North of England Lead Mining Museum in July, 2009. Students from Wolsingham School and Community College along with one of their art teachers worked on site with Killhopes Visiting Artist, Jane Foale. Elizabeth Pickett, Geodiversity Officer with the AONB Partnership, worked with the group as well as introducing the geological processes which have shaped the local landscape using her own illustrative artwork. The event was captured in sound and images by Alex Sawyer, photographer and Phil Ogg, sound artist, who was assisted by Steven Kelly, a student at the School. The resulting audio-visual piece not only documents some of the activities during the three days but also gives a fascinating insight into a unique museum and the historic North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and UNESCO European Geopark which surrounds it.

Please watch: "Cabin Brothers Mini-teaser" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRzG5w5raVA --~-- Ever wondered what you could build with a shipping container and a bunch of reclaimed wood? Wonder no more. Episode 3 of the DANIELS WOOD LAND SHOW is here and the guys are building a world-class cabin for a huge trade show. This week they are up against the clock to finish the build - then take it apart to ship it across the country. Quite simply the coolest cabin on the planet, this is tiny house construction at its most inventive; Redneck meets cowboy, meets old west mining shack; inspired Disney, Loony toons and other cartoon favorites it's DWL's big build for this year's IAAPA trade show -- where they'll show off their extreme themed cabin to the world's leading makers of theme park fantasies. ABOUT THE DWL SHOW: In a busy workshop filled with the roar of power tools and the smell of wood dust and welding a team of multi-talented craftsman create massive, magical installations for movie premieres, video games shows and anywhere else that needs to make a earth-shattering, awe-inspiring impression. • The treehouse that comes with it's own tree. • The coolest cabins, playhouses and treehouses in the world • Quarter-scale steel replica of Star Wars X-Wing Fighter. • 20-foot tall Power ranger. • Battlefield solider for Electronic Arts. • Talking donkey and other animatronic characters • Titan Fall for EA. • Shrek treehouse for Dreamworks. • Giant corn on the cob two stories tall. • Steampunk shooting galleries. • Interactive museum displays. • Cartoon character wood carvings. • Giant owl for Electric Daisy carnival. They work with every material imaginable – metal, wood, foam, paint and more. Many of their projects are built with reclaimed materials much of it salvaged from the landfill and incorporated into unique, one-of-kind creations for clients all over the world. It could be for a resort in Shanghai, the lobby of a legendary Bellagio hotel or a billionaire’s backyard in Silicon Valley, but each build is outlandish, extreme and the way it’s made will blow your mind every time.

https://www.expedia.com/Cape-Town.d6046820.Destination-Travel-Guides Cape Town sits on South Africa’s Cape Peninsula, where the waters of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans converge. Begin your adventure at The Castle of Good Hope, the centerpoint from which the city grew. Nearby you’ll find Company’s Garden, the Parliament Building, and the South African Museum. Don’t miss the District Six Museum, which gives voice to the 60,000 non-white residents who saw their vibrant multi-racial neighborhood flattened during the darkest days of the Apartheid era. One neighborhood that was spared from apartheid’s wrecking ball is Bo-Kaap, where traditional Cape Malay culture continues amid the row houses of this colorful hillside suburb. Visit the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, and explore attractions such as Two Oceans Aquarium. The waterfront is also the gateway to one of the world’s most infamous prisons, Robben Island. Table Mountain is Cape Town’s most beloved landmark. From the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, take a walking trail up the mountain, or take the Cableway for the spectacular ride to the viewing area. Cape Town is one of the world’s great beach cities. From Green Point, the site of Cape Town’s futuristic stadium, follow the coast and discover one incredible beach after another. Cape Town’s riches don’t end with its beaches, it’s also blessed with some of the best wine country in the world. After touring the acclaimed wineries of Paarl and Stellenbosch, head up Franschhoek Pass and wander hillsides filled with Proteas. In local tradition, the Protea represents transformation, courage and hope. Cape Town is a city which shares the same soil, so it’s not surprising that it embodies those same qualities too.
