Kenya Miners Part 1: Mining underground by hand for gold bearing quartz viens

05:19
This is our first video in our five part series of our trip to Kenya to install a shaker table to help eliminate the use of mercury by the smalls scale gold miners. We met with Julius who is the president of the MICA gold mining cooperative and donated a shaker table to MICA to show the miners a different technology for gold concentration other than the use of mercury. Once the shaker table was set up the miners were amazed! The shaker table on average recovered 2-3 times more gold from the same material they had been processing with their blanket/burlap sluices and mercury use. The table can also process the material up to 10 times faster than the blanket/burlap sluices. The result being in some cases 30 times more gold for the miners in the same amount of processing time. Stay tuned for more videos of our trip to Kenya. For more information about our shaker table or any of our other products email us at info[email protected] or give us a call at 360-595-4445. http://www.mbmmllc.com

High Grade Mineralized Quartz Viens Found In A Free Gold Outcropping

05:25
Two viens of decent grade found in an Outcropping containing free gold and copper sulphides. The two Viens run parallel and are within 3 meters of each other. One vien contains galena, chalcopyrite and pyrite the other bornite and chalcopyrite. The outcrop contains free milling gold which was our original interest, however so hid the Viens on our original trip a second visit revealed the two Viens which were assayed at there contact zones and across the vien. Several samples were taken over about 3 meters and sent in for an average. We will be doing a soil sampling program and including sampling an old adit with high gold values on the property. Video shows some samples and a quick video of the area on our snowy/night prospecting trip. We will eventually post a more detailed video of the area and old workings but for now.... Free Gold, Platinum & Palladium In Oxidized Quartz Veins

03:48
This outcrop/showings contain free gold as well as some minor amounts of sulphides containing platinum and Palladium. We removed three samples for assays. The area is heavily Mineralized and consists of breccia, shales, quartz, calcite, clay, sand all in an outcrop 60 meters wide. There is mineralization in the form of oxides and sulphides which contains varying grades of free gold, minor amounts of silver and decent platinum, palladium, and other minor amounts of metals. Showings number one, two and three are new discoveries and have been tested via ICP method for pt and pd and a fire assay for Au. A lot more exploration is needed to determine the tonnage avaliable. This area is in the same zone as another outcrop which contains good free gold. Assays and testing were done on all three showings and the results are at the end of the video! Prospecting A Newly Logged Area & Some Old Gold Mines

09:45
We have recently staked this area to evaluate the mineral potential. Recent logging has exposed loads of new bedrock. Several locations were found with minerlization including a new quarry used to build access roads. Part of the property has several old mines including an old prospectors pit, 6 meter deep shaft, an incline shaft 33 meters deep and a big quarry were we have recently been removing material for a bulk sample (shown in another video). The video shows some quick exploration of the area to get a view of how much bedrock is exposed from logging. And shows some of the workings. There will be more videos in this are soon to come as we only show 1/5th of the entire property in the video. Assays and preliminary testing were done on some showings and the results are listed throughout the video. Want to support us? Gold and Quartz Crystals! (high banker with Gold Owl mats)

17:09
Finding gold in a Quartz quarry. Took a sort little trip to my McGilvary Quartz claim to run some of the quartz crush through my high banker with its new Gold Owl mats. I was seeing if the massive quartz vein had any gold in it. It was a bit of an experiment just to see what was there. Found some nice small quartz crystals and some gold. For Gold owl Mats check out Goldstream Placer supplies in Grand Prairie. Our Hard Rock Gold Mine | Initial Testing

First couple of days at our new hard rock gold mine in Oregon. Initial drilling, gathering ore and a little processing of it back at the storage facility until our trailor is completed to process on site. Seems we got better results by just drilling small holes in the wall then panning rather than running full buckets from large amounts of ore we got off the walls. To be continued....

Secret Miner’s Cabin & Mines In The Sierra Nevada - Part 1

16:18
Probably less than a dozen people know about the historic miner’s cabin hidden away on this mining claim - and even fewer still know about the abundance of gold mines found here… It remains a secret because the people that do know where this is remain tight-lipped about it and this cabin and mines are located in an absolute black hole on topographic and other maps. There is simply nothing marked anywhere near here. With the contractors for the Forest Service, BLM, Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) programs, et al working overtime (with taxpayer money) to get all of these historic mines erased, it is very nice to be introduced to some gold mines that are not (currently) in danger of being permanently closed. It is a shame that we have to wallow in such secrecy simply to protect a historically significant site from the very entities that should be preserving it, but such is the upside down world we live in. The two adits featured in this video appear to be quite old. I was able to find a couple of references to the mines consolidated on this claim in mining journals dating back to the turn of the last century and they were described as already having been worked for a while at that time. So, initial work here probably dates back to around the time of California’s “Gold Rush” era. The earliest gold miners in California were placer miners. However, when the easy pickings from the surface were worked out, they became lode miners and headed underground to start chasing the veins where the gold in the creeks originated from (some underground miners also chased the rich placer left behind by ancient river channels that were buried millions of years ago). The little hole by the creek under the huge boulder would have been referred to as a “coyote hole” by the miners of the time. These were in abundance along the creeks and rivers of California in the early days as the miners pursued gold flakes and nuggets back into the rocks and gravel lining the waterways. So, it seems likely that the small adit we visited first would have been the one developed initially and then the larger adit punching into the hard rock would have come along later. In further support of the idea that these mines are older rather than newer is that, although it may possibly have been there at one point, there was no sign of rail at the mines we visited. The claim owner also stated that he has never seen any sign of rail here either. It is not difficult to imagine a swarm of miners crawling all over these canyon walls like ants during the “Gold Rush” era, churning up the creeks and digging out coyote holes. This initial surge of miners, however, would have been followed by a more patient, more sophisticated group of miners that had an eye on heading underground. At the second adit shown in this video, for example, you could have had something like a father and son team or two brothers slowly working away at that lode mine for years, chasing those quartz veins and hauling load after load of ore and waste rock out in wheelbarrows. I’m giving more of a general feel for the area with these videos rather than showing every single bit of mining history present as both sides of this canyon are covered in mines and the remains of mining equipment. We’ll see more of that in the next video. ***** All of these videos are uploaded in HD, so adjust those settings to ramp up the quality! It really does make a difference. You can see the gear that I use for mine exploring here: https://bit.ly/2wqcBDD You can click here for my full playlist of abandoned mines that I have explored: https://goo.gl/TEKq9L Thanks for watching! ***** Growing up in California’s “Gold Rush Country” made it easy to take all of the history around us for granted. However, abandoned mine sites have a lot working against them – nature, vandals, scrappers and various government agencies… The old prospectors and miners that used to roam our lonely mountains and toil away deep underground are disappearing quickly as well. These losses finally caught our attention and we felt compelled to make an effort to document as many of the ghost towns and abandoned mines that we could before that colorful niche of our history is gone forever. But, you know what? We enjoy doing it! This is exploring history firsthand – bushwhacking down steep canyons and over rough mountains, figuring out the techniques the miners used and the equipment they worked with, seeing the innovations they came up with, discovering lost mines that no one has been in for a century, wandering through ghost towns where the only sound is the wind... These journeys allow a feeling of connection to a time when the world was a very different place. And I’d love to think that in some small way we are paying tribute to those hardy miners that worked these mines before we were even born. #ExploringAbandonedMines #MineExploring #AbandonedMines #UndergroundMineExploring

Prospecting An Old Gold Mine & Dump For Mineral Potential

07:08
Prospecting a claim were there an old gold mine with a mine dump. Mine dump has good potential for mineral so we completed an exploration program for the property owner. The 35 meter adit with oxidized and vuggy quartz found in a schistose rock. Some sulphides were found. This and the old mine dump were sampled for potential. Multiple mineralized and oxidized outcrops with quartz veins, free mill gold along with multiple sulphides were found samples were taken and tested for gold, silver, copper, lead, zinc and a few others. Complete gold recovery processing line for gold ore

06:38
We had a customer send us some very high grade gold quartz ore which we recovered 1.310 troy ounces from only 300 lbs! We ran the quartz through our 1/2-1 ton per hour complete turnkey processor comprised of out jaw crusher, hammer mill, and shaker table modules. The system did a good job of crushing and pulverizing the ore, but the shaker table did a remarkable job of recovering lots of gold that was smaller than 325 mesh. How Do You Find a Gold Vein? Mining 101: Ep 12.

02:33
Chairman of Exeter Resource Corp. Yale Simpson explains how you find a vein that is worth mining. From wiki: The difference between 19th century and modern mining techniques and the type of ore sought is based on the grade of material being mined and the methods of mining which are used. Historically, hand-mining of gold ores permitted the miners to pick out the lode quartz or reef quartz, allowing the highest-grade portions of the lodes to be worked, without dilution from the unmineralised wall rocks. Modern mining using larger machinery and equipment forces the miners to take low-grade waste rock in with the ore material, resulting in dilution of the grade. However, modern mining and assaying allows the delineation of lower-grade bulk tonnage mineralisation, within which the gold is invisible to the naked eye. In these cases, veining is the subordinate host to mineralisation and may only be an indicator of the presence of metasomatism of the wall-rocks which contains the low-grade mineralisation. For this reason, veins within hydrothermal gold deposits are no longer the exclusive target of mining, and in some cases gold mineralization is restricted entirely to the altered wall rocks within which entirely barren quartz veins are hosted. Example Gold Ore

00:41
Many people who may have difficulty to identify the gold in the rock, because gold is usually often confused with the kind of carrier minerals pyrite , chalcopyrite, pyrhotite, pentlandit and gold-colored mica, because the mineral carrier is very similar to a vein of gold ore. consequence of the existence of native gold movements in the earth's heat or thermal. Where the size of microcrystalline gold ore minerals are below 150 microns to 0.8 microns and fatherly look of metal ore we need a tool microscope. Microcrystalline gold deposits are generally found in the primary. Gold grains are disseminated in a gangue of quartz and intergrown or locked in sulfide minerals. Coarse grains can be liberated by crushing and grinding followed by gravity concentration using a concentrator. If the ore consists of very fine grains extraction with a mixture of sodium cyanide to extract metal ore fatherly. Submicro crystalline gold particles and typically occur in the crystal lattice of certain sulfide ores. Gold contained in sulfide minerals present as small grains and particles in the crystal lattice of minerals. Many primary deposit consists of grains and disseminated in pyrite, chalcopyite, arsenopyrite or pyrrhotite containing large amounts of gold and intergrown with gangue minerals. Sulfide minerals can not be concentrated by gravity methods because the gravity is very low for gold sulfide. Froth flotation is the most common technique used to process the content of ore minerals in these rocks, followed by using sodium cyanide to remove gold. Mining techniques such methods are expensive and can only be used on large deposits, but has a low value to support the Processing Activities Visit Our Blog : http://miningeducation.blogspot.com/

Fascinating Visit To The “Rouge” Miner’s Gold Mine

31:22
We were very fortunate to be afforded the opportunity to visit this historic site as it is certainly not open to the public... Aside from the colorful personality of Mr. Randy Yager, we were also treated to an extensive tour of a rich - and still producing - lode gold mine (And not a dull visit of the “stay behind the white lines” variety that would be found on the tourist circuit either). As viewers of this channel know, it is rare for us to encounter very much in the way of historical mining equipment and artifacts at an abandoned mine. Many abandoned mines have had much of their equipment and other treasures carted away by the miners themselves when the mine was abandoned. Over the following decades, “collectors” carry away pretty much everything else that can be lifted and hauled away… Not at this mine though! At this mine, we get to see what a functioning gold mine looks like – one that was a medium-sized, mine-to-mill operation several decades ago and that now might as well be a living museum from that era. The shower room/work shop/drill room/bunkhouse/compressor room and the mill could use a little paint and some duct tape before they would be in pristine condition again, but we can still see all of the equipment in them as it was when this mine was in full operation and see exactly how things worked back then. I love the underground time, but I found that “moment frozen in time” experience on the surface to be fascinating. You’ve got to think that they were still actively mining here up into the 1960s when gold was $35 an ounce and the miners were able to support themselves on that. So, consider the potential of this mine now if it were to be brought back up to maximum production! With the background noise and different people talking, it can be hard to hear him sometimes, but if you listen carefully, Randy provides a lot of information about this mine. I tried to include as much of him discussing the mine as I could, but I had almost two hours of video that needed to be whittled down to make it digestible for the short attention span of many (but certainly not all) YouTube viewers. It was interesting (to me at least) to hear that the miners had simply tunneled past badly caved sections in the mine rather than deal with the hassle of trying to rehab these sketchy sections. I wasn’t clear if the 3,000+ feet that the adit ran past the waste rock pile where Cory and I climbed up the raise was just caved in one section or if essentially all of it was caved. I believe it was one section, but I’m not certain of that. As you may have heard, aside from the thousands of feet that the main haulage adit kept running, there were also four levels above us in the haulage adit and several levels below us. So, this is a pretty extensive mine. I’d imagine there could be some pretty good stuff to see in these other sections. 06:16
A newly staked placer deposit! We call it gold creek. Wonder why watch the gold! We found this randomly on the way back from another claim and did a couple pans from the moss and under a big quartz boulder we hope to find the source of the gold nuggets, pickers, possibly a gold quartz vein. There is a waterfall on this creek we will be going to in the future and maybe we c as n find a record gold score with huge chunky gold nuggets! Hope everyone enjoys some of the great gold from British Columbia, Canada on gold creek! This video was made possible by our patrons support! Thank you to our patrons! Finding Big Quartz At The Little Sister Mine

19:56
One encounters many unexpected things when exploring abandoned mines. In that category of unexpected things, the weather can sometimes feature quite prominently. As such, you’ll see in this video that even though we are exploring at the height of summer, we find ourselves caught in a blizzard and then hail and then rain. And, yes, that was indeed as unpleasant as it sounds. So, regrettably, we did not explore the forest around this gold mine as extensively as we normally would at an abandoned mine site. I did hike up the mountain a short distance from the adit near the workshop (the first adit we saw that was collapsed) and discovered another adit that was eroded shut, but had enormous rails coming out of it. I would place the size of the of the waste rock pile at that upper adit in the smaller to medium category… Across the creek, I am fairly certain that I caught a glimpse of some equipment or boards higher up the mountain when we were walking around down below the main adit we explored. However, given that we were soaking wet and miserably cold, we were not particularly keen on trying to slip and struggle our way up a steep, muddy mountainside. Additionally, given the collapsed state of the adits and levels of this mine that we did visit, I did not have a high degree of confidence in finding any additional smaller, upper levels to be in better condition. As such, a portion of this abandoned mine remains unexplored... Additionally, the largest locked building contains a ball mill and, undoubtedly, other equipment as well. There was also a large trailer home above the workshop that apparently served as a bunkhouse and a building right along the creek that was perhaps one hundred feet upstream from the bridge. This building had wooden stairs leading down to it and was completely clad in corrugated metal. It seemed that the creek had pulled off some of the metal, but the building was still locked up tight. I am disappointed that we weren’t able to see inside any of these buildings, but we are not going to break into anything even at a mine that has been abandoned. From the research I did on this mine, it appears that the prominent quartz ledge seen inside of the mine was discovered in the early 1860s. The mine has been worked off and on since that time with peaks in activity (according to the paperwork I could locate) taking place in the 1920s, 1950s and 1960s. Official records indicated gold production at tens of thousands of ounces. ***** All of these videos are uploaded in HD, so adjust those settings to ramp up the quality! Gold Prospecting in the Mountains - Dirty Quartz Creek, panning and bazooka sluicing

Took a trip to the mountains and done some gold prospecting. We panned and sluiced a small feeder creek. Barely had the water flow to run our sluices, but we still found some nice shine. "BACK TO THE WOODS" by Jason Shaw (http://audionautix.com/index.html)

Yale Public Panning Reserve. Free gold panning in BC.

The Yale Public Panning reserve is one of the best free gold panning reserves in the province of British Columbia. BC has many gold panning reserves but the panning reserve at Yale is one of the most popular. Often people ask "Where can I gold pan on the Fraser river". Where to pan on the Fraser without claim jumping is a difficult question other than the public panning reserves. This video is produced by Dan Hurd, Prospector, Miner, Teacher and YouTuber, as part of his YouTube channel based on educational videos about gold mining, gold panning, prospecting, rock hounding, and mineral collecting. https://www.patreon.com/Danhurd

There's still Gold at the Abandoned Eldorado Gold Mine, Ontario

07:46
There's still gold at the abandoned Eldorado Gold mine in Ontario. History books state the highly improbable theory that all the gold at the now abandoned Eldorado Gold Mine in Ontario was concentrated in a single fissure, but in reality the area was leaking gold out in the pockets of the many workers. According to Kim Woodside, there were many mines that could have been productive.

7788.17 grams Massive gold and quartz specimen - Part 13

02:32
March 28/16 - In this video I show you the first look of how the specimen is starting to look after having been in HF overnight. the gold is starting to POP! Its a killer gold quartz piece. It started off as 7788.17 grams of gold, quartz, arsenopyrite, chalcopyrite and other. This video series is to show the preparing of a gold specimen to make it more valuable than the gold content, this will turn out to be a museum quality specimen rather than crushing it and melting the gold. The chemicals and techniques used in the preparation of this specimen are DANGEROUS and can cause death. This video is for educational purposes and hopefully entertaining as well. PLEASE DO NOT attempt any of these techniques or procedures without proper safety equipment and training My Website http://www.goldbay.com The Facebook group (Motherlodegold) https://www.facebook.com/groups/560798687430459/ I hope you enjoy this video and please watch for many more videos as I etch, prepare and expose more of the gold from the rock to bring out the majestic beauty of gold in quartz :-) Mlgdave
