Apollo Minerals targets 800 million tonnes at Mount Oscar Iron Ore Project, Western Australia

02:16
Apollo Minerals (ASX:AON) has estimated an initial estimated 800 million tonne exploration target at Mount Oscar Iron Ore Project in the Pilbara in Western Australia as a result of independent magetic modelling. Using an assumed density of 3.5t/m3 a total tonnage for the Global Mt Oscar Project Area down to the first 250 metres of vertical depth from surface is estimated at 800 million tonnes. Several areas have potential to be hosting non-magnetic haematitic/goethitic caps overlaying the BIF sequence & 2 to a depth of 250m for Global Mt Oscar Project Area (comprising all Mt Oscar tenements held by Apollo and Fox Resources Limited). Apollo will implement a drilling programme to test the accuracy of the most prospective model within its tenement. The programme will comprise 4 drill holes for 680 metres on model A6. This model transect, is considered the most prospective for drill testing for thick magnetite units. The discovery of commercial quantities of Direct Shipping Ore (haematite) would significantly increase the value and economics of the project.

Iron-process primary screening of iron ore

Labrador Iron Mines Holdings Limited :: Mining :http://www.gyratorycrusher.com/quarry/iron-ore-beneficiation.html Iron ore crushing plant, iron ore crushing plant:http://www.gyratorycrusher.com/quarry/iron-ore-beneficiation.html Iron ore:http://www.gyratorycrusher.com/quarry/iron-ore-beneficiation.html Iron ore crusher machine, for crushing iron ore:http://www.gyratorycrusher.com/quarry/iron-ore-beneficiation.html China is currently the largest consumer of iron ore, which translates to be the world's largest steel producing country. It is also the largest importer, buying 52% of the seaborne trade in iron ore in .[5] China is followed by Japan and Korea, which consume a significant amount of raw iron ore and metallurgical coal. In , China produced 588 million tons of iron ore, with an annual growth of 38%. Iron-rich rocks aremon worldwide, but ore-grademercial mining operations are dominated by the countries listed in the table aside. The major constraint to economics for iron ore deposits is not necessarily the grade or size of the deposits, because it is not particularly hard to geologically prove enough tonnage of the rocks exist. The main constraint is the position of the iron ore relative to market, the cost of rail infrastructure to get it to market and the energy cost required to do so. New rail capacity would also be required. Based on the rule-of-thumb of 100 Mt/y per rail line, increasing production by approximately 500 Mt/y would require 5 new single rail lines. One scenario is an extra rail line for all the majors: BHP (from double to triple track), Rio (double to triple track), FMG (single to double track) and at least two new lines. New lines have been proposed by Hancock to service the Roy Hill mine and QR National to service non-major producers. Sulfur can be removed from ores by roasting and washing. Roasting oxidizes sulfur to form sulfur dioxide which either escapes into the atmosphere or can be washed out. In warm climates it is possible to leave pyritic ore out in the rain. Thebined action of rain, bacteria, and heat oxidize the sulfides to sulfates, which are water soluble (Turner , pp. 77). However, historically (at least), iron sul

It is the largest country in Oceania and the world's sixth-largest country by total area. The neighbouring countries are Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and East Timor to the north; the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu to the north-east; and New Zealand to the south-east. The population of 25 million is highly urbanised and heavily concentrated on the eastern seaboard. Australia's capital is Canberra, and its largest city is Sydney. The country's other major metropolitan areas are Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. Australia was inhabited by indigenous Australians for about 60,000 years before the first British settlement in the late 18th century. It is documented that Aborigines spoke languages that can be classified into about 250 groups. After the European discovery of the continent by Dutch explorers in 1606, who named it New Holland, Australia's eastern half was claimed by Great Britain in 1770 and initially settled through penal transportation to the colony of New South Wales from 26 January 1788, a date which became Australia's national day. The population grew steadily in subsequent decades, and by the 1850s most of the continent had been explored and an additional five self-governing crown colonies established. On 1 January 1901, the six colonies federated, forming the Commonwealth of Australia. Australia has since maintained a stable liberal democratic political system that functions as a federal parliamentary constitutional monarchy comprising six states and ten territories. Being the oldest, flattest and driest inhabited continent, with the least fertile soils, Australia has a landmass of 7,617,930 square kilometres (2,941,300 sq mi). A megadiverse country, its size gives it a wide variety of landscapes, with deserts in the centre, tropical rainforests in the north-east and mountain ranges in the south-east. A gold rush began in Australia in the early 1850s, which boosted the population of the country. Nevertheless, its population density, 2.8 inhabitants per square kilometre, remains among the lowest in the world. Australia generates its income from various sources including mining-related exports, telecommunications, banking and manufacturing. Indigenous Australian rock art is the oldest and richest in the world, dating as far back as 60,000 years and spread across hundreds of thousands of sites.Australia is a highly developed country, with the world's 13th-largest economy. It has a high-income economy, with the world's tenth-highest per capita income. Australia is a regional power and has the world's 13th-highest military expenditure. Australia has the world's 9th largest immigrant population with immigrants accounting for 26% of the population. Having the third-highest human development index and the eighth-highest ranked democracy globally, the country ranks highly in quality of life, health, education, economic freedom, civil liberties and political rights, with all its major cities faring well in global comparative livability surveys. Australia is a member of the United Nations, G20, Commonwealth of Nations, ANZUS, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), World Trade Organization, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, Pacific Islands Forum and the ASEAN Plus Six mechanism.
