The Devil is my Accountant - The Flaps
Wollongong's premiere rock band perform their hit "The Devil Is My Accountant" at the Oxford Tavern. Shane Leslie Death - Vocals, Keyboards Vas Deferens - Bass, Backing vocals Roy Morgan-Research - Drums, The Beefiest Cymbal in Wollongong Lyrics: I went to get my tax done A normal thing you may think But the story I'm about to foretell Would drive any man to drink I stepped into my accountant's office To fill in my tax forms But he looked familiar He had a tail and pointed horns 'Cause the devil is my accountant And he comes from the gates of hell He's got pens in his pocket And a few lost souls as well I said "What can I claim for?" He said 'You can only claim your soul!" I said I sold it last week to Cash Converters 'Cause John Howard took away my dole I said "Can I claim for the Salvation Army?" He said "No, they're on God's side" I said "What about the Smith Family then?" He said 'You've got a hide" and he sent me to hell! 'Cause the devil is my accountant And he comes from the gates of hell He's got pens in his pocket And a few lost souls as well It really sucks here in hell And I won't be able to get out until at least the 98-99 financial year That's a long way off Especially under today's economic climate But at least it's not as bad as Guam Where you have to sell your own mother to buy one small punnet of gooseberries Yeah that's what it's like when... The devil is my accountant And he comes from the gates of hell He's got pens in his pocket And a few lost souls as well

To The Pub - Student Life at Turf Tavern
Hundreds of students have passed through the doors of the Turf Tavern and today’s no different. Pearls of wisdom here as they muse on what student life is like. Watch more at http://bit.ly/ToThePubTV At the heart of many communities, the pub brings people together from all walks of life. From those who enjoy a quiet pint or a game of darts, through to celebrating weddings and sharing memories of friends and family – every pub has a tale to tell and here they are.    Championed by Greene King IPA, ‘To The Pub’ is a series of 50 pubs telling their own stories in their own words. Each film independently directed by the landlords, their staff and the locals that visit regularly. Capturing those unique moments we all recognise and love about our nation’s pubs.   We hope you enjoy the films as much as we do. Cheers. You can visit the Turf Tavern in person at 4-5 Bath Place, Oxford OX1 3SU Greene King IPA is our flagship beer, born and brewed in Bury St Edmunds. IPA stands for India Pale Ale, a style of ale brewed for export during the time of the Indian Raj (c. 1856). IPA was brewed with an unusually high volume of hops so they could preserve the ale during the long voyage to India. Funnily enough, though, our ale never made it to India. Perhaps we just didn't want to see it leave. Many people are involved in bringing you Greene King IPA – from the farmers in the fields to the brewers back at the brewery and the landlords in the cellars. We're lucky to be surrounded by people who are passionate about what we do – and the quality of beers we craft together.

Small Boat Sailing London - River Thames - Tower Bridge
Footage of a small 23' yacht, British Hunter Duette, sailing on the River Thames. The opening scenes are of the small boat rocking and rolling in the wash of the fast commuter ferries. She arrives at Tower Bridge, just in time to see it opening for the superyacht, 'Mayan Queen IV', which belongs to Mexican mining billionaire, Alberto Bailleres. The superyacht is estimated to have cost 1.2 billion US dollars. After staying overnight in St Katharine Docks, and an early morning sail past Tower Bridge, we head back down river. Tower Bridge was built between 1886 and 1894. She was originally powered by two 360 horse power steam engines. 'Mayan Queen IV' can just be seen under the bridge, at this point, moored alongside HMS Belfast in the Pool of London. Many of the Victorian wharves, which line the banks of the Thames, are now converted into luxury apartments. In the 19th century, the wharves would have have been packed with tall ships and sailing barges, bringing goods into and out of London. Canary Wharf Estate can be seen as we leave the Lower Pool of London and head into Limehouse Reach. Here we can also see the 'Prospect Of Whitby' public house, built in 1520 - London's oldest riverside pub. Also 'The Grapes', originally opened in 1583 - the current building dates from 1720. Charles Dickens visited both pubs and immortalised them in his novels. On past Columbia Wharf, built in 1864 - the first grain silo in a British port. Milton Knight Ship Repairers yard can be seen on the North bank. It closed in 1968. And on to Limehouse Dock entrance and the South dome of Greenwich Foot Tunnel, built in 1902. The 'Cutty Sark' was undergoing her major restoration at the time of this video so its landmark masts cannot be seen. In Greenwich Reach we see Christopher Wren's Greenwich Seamen's hospital, which was open between 1712 and 1869. Wren designed the building for free in 1696. The hospital was funded with money seized from the pirate, Captain Kidd. After the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, Lord Nelson's body lay in state here, in the Painted Hall, before being taken up the River Thames to St Paul's Cathedral for a state funeral. Between 1873 and 1998 it was the Royal Naval College, Greenwich. Greenwich is also home of the meridian line, zero degrees latitude, and, of course, Greenwich Mean Time. Still in Greenwich Reach for the Trafalgar Tavern, built in 1837, on the South Bank and Canary Wharf Estate and London Docklands on the North Bank. Blackwall Point is dominated by the Millennium Dome, now the O2 Arena and David Beckam's Football Academy. On the opposite bank, we have Trinity Buoy Wharf, and London's only lighthouse, which used to train lighthouse men. The Mudlark Boulevard Apartments can then be seen on the South Bank by Greenwich Yacht Club. In Woolwich Reach, we pass through the enormous Thames Barrier, which was opened in 1984 by Queen Elizabeth II. The Barrier is designed to stop London from flooding and cost £534m and a further £100m for additional river defences. At Silvertown we see Tate and Lyle's sugar refinery and BT satellite dishes. We keep a careful eye on the Woolwich free ferry, which connects Woolwich on the South side to North Woolwich on the North side. There's been a ferry service here at Woolwich since 1308. The Royal Arsenal, in Gallion's Reach, opened in 1671 and closed in 1994, and is now home to the Firepower Museum. As we pass the Royal Docks entrance, we hoist sail again and head back to the sea. With thanks to John Masefield for 'the lonely sea and the sky' lines and for the wonderful music of Patrick Hawes: Goddess Of The Woods. The Call of the Wild is a novel by American author Jack London published in 1903. The story is set in the Yukon during the 19th-century Klondike Gold Rush—a period when strong sled dogs were in high demand. The novel's central character is a dog named Buck, a domesticated dog living at a ranch in California as the story opens. Stolen from his home and sold into the brutal existence of an Alaskan sled dog, he reverts to atavistic traits. Buck is forced to adjust and survive cruel treatments, fight to dominate other dogs, and survive in a harsh climate. Eventually he sheds the veneer of civilization, relying on primordial instincts through lessons he learns, to emerge as a leader in the wild. London lived for most of a year in the Yukon and gained from that experience material for the book. The story was serialized in the Saturday Evening Post in the summer of 1903; a month later it was released in book form. The novel's great popularity and success made a reputation for London. Much of its appeal derives from the simplicity with which London presents the themes in an almost mythical form. As early as 1908 the story was adapted to film and has seen several more cinematic adaptations since that time. Urban Exploration Abandoned Farm House #12
So we have been spending some time at a wildlife conservation Marsh in the area. And have popped by this farm a couple of times now.The 1 st time we were here it was wet and dreary the next time it seems we have an issue with ticks. {we just don't like them.} There is only a 10 day span between the 2 visits and you can clearly see that within another month ,you will not be able to see anything with all the growth that is already starting to overrun the place. Probably will be a while before we come out to this part of the province again. So we are glad we got what video we could ,when we did. Fun ,having Allison hang with us for the day. Weaponizing data for politics - Shivam Shankar Singh
We’ve all heard of the prevalence of Data Analytics in the political realm and stories of how companies like Cambridge Analytica influenced elections with the use of data. It used to be information that was power in politics but now data and the analysis of it lets parties weild even more power. If done right and combined with on ground intelligence, it allows for microtargetting and targetted advertising that are now a major tool for shaping the public discourse. My talk would focus on what data can be used by political parties and consultants to influence elections and how this data is converted into strategy. The talk would also raise some ethical concerns on the use of data for political purposes so that people working in the technology sector can have a more informed discussion on data privacy laws in the country. It would also be a call to action for people in the tech space to raise their concerns about how most of the data is stored in extremely insecure databases in the country. Shivam is a politicial consultant working primarily on the data side and have worked on the Manipur and Tripura Legislative Assembly election campaigns for BJP. Shivam also worked briefly on the Punjab Legislative Assembly elections with Prashant Kishor’s company IPAC and was a Legislative Assistant to Member of Parliament (LAMP) fellow in 2015-16. To The Pub - Shakespeare History at Dirty Duck
People the world over visit this Stratford-upon-Avon pub steeped in Shakespearean history. However, we’re more interested in what the tourists make of our pubs. Cheers. You can visit the Dirty Duck in person at Waterside, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warwickshire CV37 6BA Greene King IPA is our flagship beer, born and brewed in Bury St Edmunds.
