50 Mining Engineering Interview Questions And Answers || Frequently asked questions in an interview

09:21
Mining engineering is an engineering discipline that applies science and technology to the extraction of minerals from the earth. Mining engineering is associated with many other disciplines, such as geology, mineral processing and metallurgy, geotechnical engineering and surveying. A mining engineer may manage any phase of mining operations – from exploration and discovery of the mineral resource, through feasibility study, mine design, development of plans, production and operations to mine closure. With the process of Mineral extraction, some amount of waste and uneconomic material are generated which are the primary source of pollution in the vicinity of mines. Mining activities by their nature cause a disturbance of the natural environment in and around which the minerals are located. Mining engineers must therefore be concerned not only with the production and processing of mineral commodities, but also with the mitigation of damage to the environment both during and after mining as a result of the change in the mining area. Salary and statistics Mining salaries are usually determined by the level of skill required, where the position is, and what kind of organization the engineer is working for.[citation needed] When comparing salaries from one region to another, cost of living and other factors need to be taken into consideration. Mining engineers in India earn relatively high salaries in comparison to many other professions, with an average salary of $15,250. However, in comparison to mining engineer salaries in other regions, such as Canada, the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom, Indian salaries are low. In the United States, there are an estimated 6,630 employed mining engineers, with a mean yearly salary of USD$90,070. Education Students outside Colorado School of Mines campus There are many ways to become a Mining Engineer but all include a university degree in Mining Engineering. Primarily, training includes a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng. or B.E.), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. or B.S.), Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) orBachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Mining Engineering. Depending on the country and jurisdiction, to be licensed as a mining engineer a Master's degree; Master of Engineering (M.Eng.),Master of Science (M.Sc or M.S.) or Master of Applied Science(M.A.Sc.) maybe required. There are also mining engineers who have come from other disciplines e.g. from engineering fields likeMechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering,Geomatics Engineering, Environmental Engineering or from science fields like Geology, Geophysics, Physics, Geomatics, Earth Science,Mathematics, However, this path requires taking a graduate degree such as M.Eng, M.S., M.Sc. or M.A.Sc. in Mining Engineering after graduating from a different quantitative undergraduate program in order to be qualified as a mining engineer. The fundamental subjects of mining engineering study usually include: Mathematics; Calculus, Algebra, Differential Equations,Numerical Analysis Geoscience; Geochemistry, Geophysics, Mineralogy, Geomatics Mechanics; Rock mechanics, Soil Mechanics, Geomechanics Thermodynamics; Heat Transfer, Work (thermodynamics), Mass Transfer Hydrogeology Fluid Mechanics; Fluid statics, Fluid Dynamics Geostatistics; Spatial Analysis, Statistics Control Engineering; Control Theory, Instrumentation Surface Mining; Open-pit mining Underground mining (soft rock) Underground mining (hard rock) Computing; MATLAB, Maptek (Vulcan) Drilling and blasting Solid Mechanics; Fracture Mechanics In the United States, the University of Arizona offers a B.S. in Mining Engineering with tracks in mine operations, geomechanics, sustainable resource development and mineral processing. South Dakota School of Mines and Technology offers a B.S. in Mining Engineering and also an M.S. in Mining Engineering and Management and Colorado School of Mines offers a M.S. in Mining and Earth-Systems Engineering, also Doctorate (Ph.D.) degrees in Mining and Earth-Systems Engineering and Underground Construction and Tunnel Engineering respectively. How to become a back end web developer | Full Web Development career advice - 2018

05:15
Check out my latest Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCrrLdxEXtA How to become a back end web developer | Full Web Development career advice - 2018 Thinking about moving into the flourishing field of web development? As you may already know, there are three types of web developers: Front end Backend And full stack (which combines both) In this video, focus solely on backend developers by looking at what they do, the skills required to become a backend developer, and how you can get ultimately become one. What Does a Backend Developer Do? Backend developers are responsible for building out the "server side" in web applications. AKA everything that happens before hitting your browser—which is known as the "client side." (Typically front end developers are responsible for creating the experience on the client side.) While backend developers focus on the inner workings of web applications, they still work hand-in-hand with front-end developers by giving the outward facing web application elements server side logic. Backend developer adds this logic by using a server side scripting language like Ruby or PHP. Aside from making web applications functional, backend developers are also responsible for optimizing the application for speed and efficiency. Moreover, backend developers often create a data storage solution with a database. The database is a crucial component for all web applications for it stores information (like users, comments, posts, etc. ). Common databases include MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL. Who Does a Backend Developer Work With? Backend developers typically work in teams with others. Even within a larger team, there is generally a design, front end (engineers, UX architects, etc.), and then a backend team. As far as backend teams go, back-end developers work alongside software engineers. One could do just REST API development or related. Another could be a quality assurance (QA), engineer. As you see, even within the backend there are different duties. What Skills/Technologies Must I Know to Become a Backend Developer? In this video, we are going to cover some core skills and technologies a backend developer must know. 1. Proficient knowledge of the back-end programming language/framework that the given company relies upon 2. Understanding of front-end web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (to communicate with team members on the front end) 3. Ability to manage a hosting environment, including database administration as well as scaling applications to handle load changes 4. Knowledge of accessibility and security compliance 5. Experience with version control, such as Git Where Can I Learn These Backend Skills? Most backend developers and those working on the backend team have formal training in one way or another. AKA a computer science (CS) degree. Compared to front-end developers, back-end developers may have to do more abstraction. They could be data mining, writing abstract algorithms, and so forth. That's why a formal CS degree comes in handy. Nevertheless, if you're beyond your college years, there are both in-person courses (or boot camps) and online options available to prepare you for a career in backend development. In-person Backend Development Courses Of course, when doing a face-to-face course location is everything. The best way to find an in-person backend development course near you is through online research. However, here are two suggestions to get the ball rolling: General Assembly has a 10-week backend development course Betamore has a 12-week backend course (which is part-time) In-person boot camps/courses aren't cheap. But they are more affordable than a formal CS degree. (Plus, unlike online classes, you have the luxury of being able to interact with peers and an instructor.) Online Backend (Or Full Stack) Learning Options It is not as easy to find backend-only online courses. Most teach full stack -- so both the front and backend. Nonetheless, here are some online course options to consider: Udacity has a full stack nano degree, with backend development emphasis Bloc.io has a full stack online course, too, with one-on-one mentorship Udemy has a variety of online course options, including backend development (make sure to read the reviews on Udemy before signing up)

What is Civil Engineering - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFljMHTQ1QY What is Mechanical Engineering - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W74y1RxN6BA In this video I discuss "Civil Vs Mechanical Engineering." These two majors start off very similar in college but then become very different. Civil engineers branch off into their subfields including structural engineering, geotechnical, water resources, and transportation. Mechanical engineers focus more on heat transfer, fluid mechanics, dynamic systems, etc. Mechanical engineering does lead to a wider range of job opportunities compared to civil engineering. However, both these majors have high employment and salaries so you can't go wrong with either one. Both of these majors involve a large amount of math and physics which you should have an interest in before entering either major. *************************************** For information on math, science, and engineering majors, check us out at https://majorprep.com *************************************** ►Patreon: https://patreon.com/majorprep ►PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/majorprep ►Facebook: https://facebook.com/majorprep

Get Recruitment Notifications of all private and govt jobs , Mock test details ,Previous year question papers only at Freshersworld.com – the No.1 jobsite for entry level candidates in India. (To register : http://freshersworld.com?src=Youtube ) – This video is all about “Careers and Training courses for Big Data There are a handful of working definitions for big data, but to me it is most simply put as data sets so large and complex that it becomes difficult or impossible to process them using traditional database management applications. Granted, the term may apply differently to different organizations. For a smaller company, facing hundreds of gigabytes of data for the first time may trigger a need to explore new tools. Other companies that generate tons of transactional data, like UPS, wouldn't flinch with their existing toolsets until they hit tens or hundreds of terabytes. For freshers who wants to start learning big data here are a few tips: 1. Begin with the basics: If you are looking at building a career in big data, you can start with developing the core aptitudes such as curiosity, agility, statistical fluency, research, scientific rigor and skeptical nature. You have to decide which facet of data investigation (data wrangling, management, exploratory analysis, prediction) are you looking at acquiring. The first step to learning big data is to develop basic level of familiarity with programming languages. 2. Experience in programming languages: Begin with developing basic data literacy and an analytic mindset by building knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C++, Pig Latin and HiveQL. Figure out where you want to apply your data analytics skills to describe, predict, and inform business decisions in the specific areas of marketing, human resources, finance, and operations. 3. Expertise in Hadoop: Developing knowledge about Hadoop Map-Reduce and Java is essential if you’re looking to be a high-performance data software engineer. 4. What are you looking for? If you are looking for a career switch to big data, begin with developing the skill sets required to work with Hadoop. A well-rounded understanding of Hadoop requires experience in large-scale distributed systems and knowledge of programming languages. 5. Data Analytics Skills: If you want to learn the fundamentals and want to get an indepth understanding of every aspect of Big Data, the resource material provided by Apache’s library is very useful. The Hadoop programme offered by Apache is an open-source software for reliable, scalable, distributed computing. Some of the other programmes offered are HBase Hive, Mahout, Pig ZooKeeper. 6. Online Courses: The big data universe is still very young, to get a well rounded expertise in big data it is important to learn and hone skills related to the subject. Decide on the course based on the skill set you're looking to get. Just by dedicating some time and energy, you can tackle learning big data with these free online classes. Applications of Big Data Big data includes problems that involve such large data sets and solutions that require a complex connecting the dots. You can see such things everywhere. 1. Quora and Facebook use Big data tools to understand more about you and provide you with a feed that you in theory should find it interesting. The fact that the feed is not interesting should show how hard the problem is. 2. Credit card companies analyze millions of transactions to find patterns of fraud. 3. There are similar problems in defense, retail, genomics, pharma, healthcare that requires a solution. The companies offering jobs on Big Data are : Qualcomm India Pvt Ltd, Accenture, Dev Solutions So let us summarize as Big Data is a group of problems and technologies related to the availability of extremely large volumes of data that businesses want to connect and understand. The reason why the sector is hot now is that the data and tools have reached a critical mass. This occurred in parallel with years of education effort that has convinced organizations that they must do something with their data treasure. CAREERS IN DATA ANALYTICS - Salary , Job Positions , Top Recruiters

12:34
CAREERS IN DATA ANALYTICS - Salary , Job Positions , Top Recruiters What IS DATA ANALYTICS? Data analytics (DA) is the process of examining data sets in order to draw conclusions about the information they contain, increasingly with the aid of specialized systems and software. Data analytics technologies and techniques are widely used in commercial industries to enable organizations to make more-informed business decisions and by scientists and researchers to verify or disprove scientific models, theories and hypotheses. As a term, data analytics predominantly refers to an assortment of applications, from basic business intelligence (BI), reporting and online analytical processing (OLAP) to various forms of advanced analytics. In that sense, it's similar in nature to business analytics, another umbrella term for approaches to analyzing data -- with the difference that the latter is oriented to business uses, while data analytics has a broader focus. The expansive view of the term isn't universal, though: In some cases, people use data analytics specifically to mean advanced analytics, treating BI as a separate category. Data analytics initiatives can help businesses increase revenues, improve operational efficiency, optimize marketing campaigns and customer service efforts, respond more quickly to emerging market trends and gain a competitive edge over rivals -- all with the ultimate goal of boosting business performance. Depending on the particular application, the data that's analyzed can consist of either historical records or new information that has been processed for real-time analytics uses. In addition, it can come from a mix of internal systems and external data sources. Types of data analytics applications : At a high level, data analytics methodologies include exploratory data analysis (EDA), which aims to find patterns and relationships in data, and confirmatory data analysis (CDA), which applies statistical techniques to determine whether hypotheses about a data set are true or false. EDA is often compared to detective work, while CDA is akin to the work of a judge or jury during a court trial -- a distinction first drawn by statistician John W. Tukey in his 1977 book Exploratory Data Analysis. Data analytics can also be separated into quantitative data analysis and qualitative data analysis. The former involves analysis of numerical data with quantifiable variables that can be compared or measured statistically. The qualitative approach is more interpretive -- it focuses on understanding the content of non-numerical data like text, images, audio and video, including common phrases, themes and points of view. At the application level, BI and reporting provides business executives and other corporate workers with actionable information about key performance indicators, business operations, customers and more. In the past, data queries and reports typically were created for end users by BI developers working in IT or for a centralized BI team; now, organizations increasingly use self-service BI tools that let execs, business analysts and operational workers run their own ad hoc queries and build reports themselves. WHAT YOU DO: Use computer simulations to look at how the Earth's surface moves over time, compare this with information from satellites to better understand the earthquake cycle, and use it to create disaster response products and plans. EDUCATION: Depending on whether you want to teach at a college, go into industry, or work for a research lab, your educational path will be slightly different. Start with an undergraduate degree, usually in Earth Science; you'll need at least a master's degree if you want to teach, and to be a tenured professor at a research institution, a PhD. Strong background in math, physics, Earth science, and solid mechanics is also important. USEFUL SKILLS: Computer programming, writing (for writing grant proposals), communication, and leadership skills. How to get in: Working in labs as a student, publishing papers (as a part of a professor's or student's research team), and going to scientific meetings to network are all ways to get yourself out there and meet people that can help you. If you're interested in research, you'll need your name on as many publications as possible by the time you start looking for a job. CAREER PATH: In industry or a research lab, getting an internship while in school then pursuing a job at any lab or related company will get your foot in the door. In academic positions, you'll start out as a researcher with some teaching responsibilities; after years of research and experience, you can become a professor with full tenure. PAYBACK: For an academic researcher with a master's degree and 3-5 years of experience, the average salary is about $69,000. With a PhD, you'll make more. If you work in industry, you can work with a bachelor's or a master's and make anywhere from $40,000-$50,000, depending on degree and experience. DOWNSIDES: Securing funding can be a challenge. You spend a good part of your time writing proposals to make sure that your research is paid for, so that you can continue working on what you love. FUTURE OF JOB: Teaching positions at universities are becoming increasingly competitive, as are positions at research labs. Jobs in industry (oil, mining, geotechnical) vary, depending on the market, but can also be competitive depending on the economy and region. NETWORKING: Professional Societies: American Geophysical Union Seismological Society of America Geological Society of America Other Resources: Southern California Earthquake Center (has student internships and other educational resources) Jet Propulsion Laboratory (look on Education page, has lots of resources) NASA (education page has resources) US Geological Survey (has a bunch of educational resources) Earth Science departments at universities/colleges Produced, shot and edited for the National Science Foundation by instructors from the Gigniks program. -Ali Sanford (LACES 12th grade)

Careers and scope after EIE.Go through the career opportunities of EIE, Govt jobs and Employment News channel from Freshersworld.com – The No.1 job portal for freshers in India. Visit http://www.freshersworld.com?src=Youtube for detailed Career information,Job Opportunities,Education details of EIE. In scientific terms, instrumentation is defined as the art and science of measurement and control of process variables within a production, or manufacturing area. The science has further opened up the realm of instrumentation engineering. Instrumentation is a multi-disciplinary stream and covers subjects from various branches such as chemical, mechanical, electrical, electronics and computers. Instrumentation engineering is a specialized branch of electrical and electronic engineering and it deals with measurement, control and automation of processes. Apart from covering core subjects such as industrial instrumentation and process control, bio-medical instrumentation and robotics, the students deal with software and hardware topics such as microprocessor and micro controller based instrumentation, VLSI and embedded system designs, computer architecture and organisation and computer control of processes. Computer languages such as ‘C' and C++ are also part of the curriculum. This makes an instrumentation engineer fit for both the hardware and the software industry. Moreover, since instrumentation engineers are presumed to be good at solving problems, the analytical ability is expected to be on the higher side, which is a basic quality needed to excel in the software industry. The demand is so high that every student finds at least two jobs waiting in the wings, by the time he or she completes her course Nature of work of an instrumentation engineer ranges from designing, developing, installing, managing equipment that are used to monitor and control machinery. Just imagine a world without instruments. It would be like traversing into a time that probably goes even beyond the Stone Age. Man has always been fascinated towards instruments and the quest to invent and innovate on new instruments has pushed mankind beyond barriers to an age where instruments have become a part and parcel of the life. Today, we find instruments at home and at workplace, and this was possible only because of the science instrumentation. Reasons of opting for this career: 1. An instrumentation engineer is basically needed in every industry as every industry is somehow or the other instrument based. 2. Lesser competition in all India exams like GATE, as there are few people taking up this course and fewer colleges giving this degree. Coming to the Jobs prospects: • PSUs recruit through GATE. One can appear for GATE in 'Instrumentation paper’ and make himself eligible to apply for PSUs like NTPC, IOCL, BPCL, GAIL, ONGC, etc • You get placed in electronic companies like Texas Instruments, Cadence Design systems • There are also companies, which come looking for Instrumentation engineers in particular, like Foster-Wheeler, CAIRN India, LINDE, etc. • Moreover during Campus placements E & I guys are generally allowed to sit in almost every type of company that are coming for recruitment : From Coding to Consultancy, Financial services to Decision Sciences...almost all. Electronics and Instrumentation is certainly a broad subject to study and you can choose your career in different areas :  If you are very good in controls and have interest in it, you can try as a control engineer in different industries like Refineries, Nuclear Reactors, Process Industries etc mainly which ever involves Manufacturing or Production.  Automation, DCS and SCADA is another area which is a potential career option.  If you find controls part difficult and dont want to get into it then you can choose a career in pure electronics without involving any control stuff (Like VLSI Design engineer, Digital Design Engg etc).  A career in embedded systems is always an option.  Another interesting field which you can get into is Microelectronics or even MEMS( But this might require a Masters Degree or PhD). You can also try in companies like Yokogowa and others which are into manufacturing of sensors and other measurement devices(proper instrumentation stuff this is). Big Data: The Canadian Opportunity

03:46
How can Canada excel in big data? This animated video considers how Canada’s primary industries — mining, energy, forestry and agriculture — can foster economic growth in Canada’s data-driven economy. Primary industries have invested more than $50 billion in “simple” sensors installed in machinery across the country. While these sensors are important to the operation of the machinery, they do not provide robust data sets for machine learning analysis. With quality data, Canadians could discover new opportunities to lower costs, reduce environmental impacts — including waste, emissions and land disturbances — and improve overall performance. Providing quality sensor data to start-ups and big data entrepreneurs through a national open-source library could enable the next generation of Canadians to develop large-scale, big data-based businesses poised to unlock the next “big idea” for Canada.

What is machine learning and how to learn it ?

12:09
http://www.LearnCodeOnline.in Machine learning is just to give trained data to a program and get better result for complex problems. It is very close to data mining. While many machine learning algorithms have been around for a long time, the ability to automatically apply complex mathematical calculations to big data – over and over, faster and faster – is a recent development. Here are a few widely publicized examples of machine learning applications you may be familiar with: The heavily hyped, self-driving Google car? The essence of machine learning. Online recommendation offers such as those from Amazon and Netflix? Machine learning applications for everyday life. Knowing what customers are saying about you on Twitter? Machine learning combined with linguistic rule creation. Fraud detection? One of the more obvious, important uses in our world today. fb: https://www.facebook.com/HiteshChoudharyPage homepage: http://www.hiteshChoudhary.com

Master of Technology Management: Engineering, Science and Entrepreneurship

03:45
For more information: http://www.mtm.ucsb.edu The best technology-based companies don't have a hard time finding employees to work on technical projects and investors see no shortage of entrepreneurs with good ideas for products but executives and investors both agree that they can't often find engineers and scientists who have what it takes to build the business around their new technologies. When looking to develop business and management skills, engineers and scientists are faced with an unfortunate decision between two choices: hope there's some day given a chance to develop leadership abilities on the job or to get an MBA and risk losing touch with their technical roots. At UC Santa Barbara we've created a third choice--a better choice. The UC Santa Barbara's Master of Technology Management Program was built with chief one important goal: to catapult early career engineers toward becoming leaders in technology ventures, both within established companies and startups. To build the Master of Technology Management Program we asked dozens of large technology companies like Google, Facebook, Oracle, Tesla, JDS Uniphase as well as founders of many small tech startups what skills engineers and scientists need to become successful entrepreneurs and effective change agents within large firms then we carefully crafted a curriculum that help students to develop those skills in just nine months. Our Master of Technology Management Program is geared specifically to teach students about how to lead technical ventures both new companies and established technology companies. We focus with laser precision on thinking about how do you manage technical enterprise and technical workers. The MTM curriculum provides the frameworks and skills that will allow you to comfortably tack between start-up activities within established companies and start-up activities as an entrepreneur. Our program focuses on the intersection of Technology Management where people products and processes meet. Work is all about collaboration. Very few things are individual effort the hardest projects we do at Sonos are around getting the highly cross functional teams working and collaborating well together. That was a huge skill I learned at UCSB. Our award-winning faculty is composed of nationally recognized scholars and teachers in the field of technology management who have invested in, founded, lead and consulted for tech ventures. Their real-world experiences allow them to speak directly to issues that students will face in their jobs. Our core faculty is fully committed to the development of our Master of Technology Management students. That means office hours, extracurricular events, even hallway conversations are centered on you and your classmates. We accept only the most talented and highly qualified early career engineers and scientists from around the world. We look for individuals who have distinguished themselves as technology experts and have demonstrated leadership potential. You'll be moving through the nine-month intensive curriculum as a single cohort with smart, ambitious individuals just like you. UC Santa Barbara's technology management program is the only management program in the world designed exclusively for engineers and scientists. If your ideal career path is one in which you build technology, focus leadership skills on top of your existing technical talents, this is the program for you. Today's tech companies are looking for tomorrow's leaders. Will you be ready to meet the demand? To learn more or to submit an application, visit us at mtm.ucsb.edu today.
